Six children have been injured after a vehicle went into the side of a child care building north of Toronto on Wednesday, police say.
York Regional Police said they were called to a building on Yonge Street and Nottingham Drive in Richmond Hill around 3 p.m. for reports of a “vehicle into building.”

A brief update said the building was a child care centre and that six children had been injured. One was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. It is unclear to what extent the other five were injured.

“Parents attending the scene are asked to go Thornbush Court on the north side of the building — Yonge Street will be closed from Gamble Road to Brookside Road,” police said.
Police offered no details of how the vehicle crashed into the building.
