A Toronto man has been arrested on ISIS-related terrorism charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, the RCMP announced on Friday.
Waleed Khan, 26, faces multiple charges alleging he provided property to ISIS knowing it would be used to facilitate terrorist activity.
He also allegedly operated social media accounts for ISIS and “did conspire with persons known and unknown to commit murder,” the RCMP said.
The alleged offences occurred between June 17, 2025 and Aug. 17, 2025. Khan was arrested on Nov. 26 but the case was only announced Friday.

The arrest comes after two pro-Islamic State terrorists killed 15 people and injured dozens more at Hanukkah celebrations at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday.
In the wake of the attack in Australia, Canada’s threat assessment agency said there were no known plots of a similar nature in this country.

But the intelligence briefing also warned that an attack targeting Jewish holiday events in Canada remained a “realistic possibility.”

The Integrated Threat Assessment Centre report said the current threat environment includes a growing list of successful and disrupted attacks, a spike in ISIS propaganda and plots directed by the Iranian regime.
“These same conditions and drivers exist in Canada, to differing degrees, and it is a realistic possibility that the Jewish community in Canada could be targeted by a violent extremist actor or actors,” it said.
Canada’s most prominent Jewish organization has called for action to address the growing antisemitism since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.
