Toronto Police say that after officers discovered a body in Pickering early Friday, members of the homicide unit were called in to investigate.
Police said the dead person was found near Highway 401 and Whites Road area at around 12:06 a.m.

Sources tell Global News that the reason Toronto police are leading this investigation is because it appears to be related to a missing person case from Toronto.
